According to the Recent NASA's survey, it has been found that due to the alarming pace of melting the arctic sea ice, the estimation of the total time to melt the total ice has decreased very drastically.It can be more clear from the relevant datas :
1996 : Whole Arctic Ice was estimated to be melted by 2070
2003 : Whole Arctic Ice was estimated to be melted by 2035
2008 : Whole Arctic Ice is estimated to be melted by 2025
See the satellite pictures shown above.The left one is a picture in the year 1971.The right one is a picture in the year 2003.
The Ice melting rate is Increasing by 2.5% each year.
